Indulge in a luxurious homemade Tiramisu Coffee Latte that combines the rich flavors of strong espresso and creamy mascarpone foam. This quick and easy recipe blends steamed milk, a double shot of espresso, and a luscious mascarpone cream topped with a dusting of unsweetened cocoa powder, perfect for a decadent coffee treat at home.

Ingredients

For the Coffee Latte

  • 60 ml (about 2 fl oz) double espresso - strong
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) milk

For the Mascarpone Foam

  • 2 tbsp (40 g) mascarpone cheese - cold
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) heavy cream - full-fat and cold
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For Garnish

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Make the Mascarpone Foam: In a small bowl, whip the cold mascarpone cheese, cold heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until the mixture is smooth, thick, and airy.
  2. Heat the Milk: Warm the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Alternatively, heat it in the microwave until hot but not boiling.
  3. Prepare the Espresso: Brew a double espresso using your coffee machine or by using ground coffee and a stovetop espresso maker.
  4. Combine Milk and Espresso: Pour the hot milk into a large glass, then add the freshly brewed double espresso. Stir gently to blend the flavors.
  5. Add the Mascarpone Foam: Spoon the thick mascarpone cream on top of the coffee and milk mixture to create a luscious foam layer.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Lightly dust the top of the mascarpone foam with unsweetened cocoa powder for that signature tiramisu touch. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use cold heavy cream and mascarpone to ensure the foam whips up properly.
  • If you prefer a sweeter latte, adjust the powdered sugar to taste.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute with vegan cream and mascarpone alternatives.
  • Use freshly brewed espresso for the best flavor and aroma.
  • This recipe makes one serving but can be easily doubled or tripled.
