Delight in these warm, sweet Peach Dumplings made with fresh peaches wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough, baked to golden perfection with a buttery cinnamon-sugar glaze and a subtle hint of lemon-lime soda for extra moisture and flavor. This simple and comforting dessert is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Fruit

  • 1 large peach, peeled and pitted

Dough

  • 1 (8-ounce) 8-count tube of refrigerated crescent rolls

Topping & Sauce

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup lemon-lime soda

Instructions

  1. Prepare the peaches: Peel and pit the large peach, then cut it into slices or halves depending on size to fit each crescent roll triangle.
  2. Assemble the dumplings: Unroll the crescent rolls and separate into 8 triangles. Wrap each peach slice tightly in a crescent roll triangle to form a dumpling, ensuring the peach is completely enclosed.
  3. Mix the topping: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, and all-purpose flour. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and consistent.
  4. Arrange and pour soda: Place the wrapped peach dumplings in a greased baking dish. Pour the lemon-lime soda evenly over the dumplings and then drizzle the butter and sugar mixture on top.
  5. Bake the dumplings: Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 35 to 40 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly and thickened.
  6. Cool and serve: Allow the peach dumplings to cool for a few minutes before serving to let the sauce thicken further and for safe handling. Serve warm alone or with ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm peaches to ensure they hold shape during baking.
  • You can substitute lemon-lime soda with ginger ale or sparkling water with a bit of sugar for a different flavor.
  • For a gluten-free variant, use gluten-free crescent roll dough and flour substitutes.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for enhanced dessert experience.
