This refreshing Ninja Creami Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream combines creamy peppermint-flavored ice cream with chocolate chips for a cool, delicious dessert that's easy to make at home. Perfect for mint chocolate lovers, this recipe is prepared using the Ninja Creami ice cream maker for a smooth, creamy texture.

Ingredients

Ice Cream Base

  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) double cream
  • ⅓ cup (40 g) confectioners sugar (icing sugar)
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • A few drops green gel food colouring

Add-ins

  • ¼ cup (40 g) chocolate chips or finely chopped chocolate
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for mixing in at the end)

Instructions

  1. Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine whole milk, double cream, confectioners sugar, peppermint extract, and green gel food colouring. Stir thoroughly until the sugar has fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Freeze Base: Pour the mixture into an empty Ninja Creami pint container, seal with the lid, and place on a level surface in the freezer. Freeze for a full 24 hours to ensure it solidifies properly.
  3. Process Ice Cream: After freezing, remove the lid and place the container into the Ninja Creami machine. Use the Ice Cream cycle according to the manufacturer’s instructions to process the base into a creamy consistency.
  4. Adjust Texture: Once the cycle finishes, open the container and stir the ice cream. If the texture is too firm or crumbly, add a splash of milk and run the Ice Cream cycle again. Repeat this process up to 1-2 more times until you achieve your preferred creaminess.
  5. Add Chocolate Chips: Create a small well in the center of the ice cream and add 1–2 tablespoons of milk along with the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate.
  6. Mix-In Chocolate: Run the Mix-In cycle on the Ninja Creami to evenly incorporate the chocolate chips throughout the ice cream.
  7. Serve: Remove from the Ninja Creami and serve immediately with additional toppings if desired.

Notes

  • Freezing the base for a full 24 hours is essential for proper processing in the Ninja Creami.
  • If you prefer a stronger mint flavor, you can increase the peppermint extract slightly, but do so in small increments to avoid overpowering the ice cream.
  • Gel food colouring is used to give the ice cream its classic mint green hue without affecting the texture.
  • Add chocolate chips after the initial processing to keep them whole and evenly distributed.
  • For best results, ensure your Ninja Creami container is completely level in the freezer to promote even freezing.
