This Mangonada recipe is a refreshing and tangy Mexican-style mango smoothie that's perfect for hot days. Combining frozen mango, mango nectar, lime juice, and a mix of chamoy and Tajín seasoning, it's a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and tart flavors. Served chilled with a tamarind candy straw, this drink is as visually appealing as it is delicious.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 16 oz. Frozen mango
  • 12 oz. Mango nectar
  • 1 cup Ice
  • 1 Lime, juiced
  • 2 tbsp Granulated sugar

For the Glass Decoration

  • 3 tbsp Chamoy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Tajín seasoning
  • Tamarind candy sticks (tamarind straws) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Blend Ingredients: Combine the frozen mango, mango nectar, ice, freshly squeezed lime juice, and granulated sugar in a blender. Blend until the mixture forms a smooth, thick mango sorbet-like consistency.
  2. Prepare Glass Rims: Dip the rims of your serving glasses into Chamoy sauce, ensuring they are well coated, then immediately dip them into Tajín seasoning to create a flavorful and spicy rim on each glass.
  3. Decorate Glass Interior: Drizzle some Chamoy sauce along the inside walls of the prepared glasses to add extra tang and visual appeal.
  4. Pour Mango Mixture: Pour the blended mango sorbet into the chamoy and Tajín-coated glasses carefully.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Serve immediately with tamarind candy sticks (tamarind straws) as a garnish. Optionally, add mango slices or lime wedges for additional decoration and flavor enhancement.

Notes

  • Use ripe mangoes frozen for best flavor and smooth texture.
  • Adjust the amount of sugar depending on the sweetness of your mango nectar.
  • Chamoy sauce and Tajín seasoning can be found in Latin grocery stores or online.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the perfect chilled texture.
  • For a less sweet version, reduce or omit the added sugar.
