A comforting and aromatic London Fog Latte made with Earl Grey tea, steamed milk, and a touch of vanilla, perfect for a cozy morning or afternoon pick-me-up.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • ½ cup filtered water
  • 2 Earl Grey tea bags
  • 2 teaspoons (8g) granulated sugar

Milk and Flavoring

  • ½ cup milk (any percentage)
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream (optional)
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil Water and Steep Tea: In a small pot, kettle, or microwave, bring water to a boil. Pour ½ cup of boiling water into an 8-ounce mug and steep the Earl Grey tea bags for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags, then stir in the granulated sugar until dissolved.
  2. Heat and Froth Milk: While the tea steeps, heat the milk in a small pot on the stove or in the microwave until it begins to steam but does not boil. Whisk vigorously by hand or use a handheld milk frother to create a creamy foam.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Pour most of the frothed milk into the tea concentrate, leaving room for the heavy cream and vanilla extract if using. Stir in the cream and vanilla, then pour in the remaining milk and foam on top. Serve immediately and enjoy your London Fog Latte.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, substitute milk and cream with almond, oat, or soy milk.
  • Adjust the sugar amount to your preference or substitute with a sweetener of choice.
  • Vanilla extract and heavy cream are optional but add richness and a lovely aroma.
  • Ensure not to boil the milk to avoid a burnt taste; steaming is sufficient.
  • Steep tea bags longer for a stronger tea flavor.
