Ingredients
Fruit Puree
1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
Juice of half a lime
3-4 tablespoons honey (or more to taste)
Spritzer Base
4 cups Perrier water (or other unsweetened carbonated water)
Garnish and Additional Ingredients
1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries
1 handful fresh basil leaves
Ice cubes as needed
Instructions
Make the strawberry puree: Puree one cup of fresh sliced strawberries with the juice of half a lime and 3-4 tablespoons of honey using a blender or magic bullet until smooth.
Combine with sparkling water: In a large pitcher, pour 4 cups of Perrier water or another unsweetened carbonated water and mix in the strawberry puree thoroughly to combine all the flavors well.
Add strawberries and basil: Stir in the remaining half cup of sliced fresh strawberries and a handful of fresh basil leaves. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Prepare to serve: When ready to serve, add the desired number of ice cubes to each glass to keep the drink chilled.
Final stir and garnish: Stir the spritzer mixture again before pouring. Taste the spritzer and adjust sweetness if desired by adding more honey. Serve cold and optionally garnish each glass with extra strawberries and basil leaves for presentation.
Notes
Adjust sweetness to taste by adding more or less honey.
For a more intense basil flavor, bruise the basil leaves slightly before adding.
Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
This mocktail is best served chilled and consumed within 24 hours for freshness.
Carbonated water options like sparkling mineral water or soda water can be used interchangeably.
To make it vegan, substitute honey with agave syrup or maple syrup.
