A refreshing and nutrient-packed green juice recipe made with celery, cucumber, parsley, kale, ginger, green apple, and lemon. Perfect for a healthy start to your day or as a revitalizing drink anytime, this juice combines fresh organic ingredients to deliver a burst of vitamins and antioxidants, easily prepared with a juicer.

Ingredients

Vegetables

  • 1/2 head celery, chopped
  • 1 organic cucumber, chopped
  • 1 handful organic parsley, chopped in half
  • 1/2 bundle organic kale, chopped in thirds

Fruits & Flavorings

  • 1 3-inch piece ginger, chopped
  • 1 small organic green apple, stem removed, sliced
  • 1 medium lemon, peeled and sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare produce: Thoroughly rinse and dry all produce. Then chop vegetables and fruits into pieces small enough to easily fit down your juicer's chute, following the machine's guidelines. Peel all citrus fruits, such as the lemon, to ensure smooth juicing.
  2. Juicing order: Turn on your juicer and begin by running celery through the machine. Next, add cucumber, followed by parsley, then kale. Finish by juicing ginger, green apple, and lemon. Use the tamper to help move ingredients if needed. The apples and lemon at the end help push out any residual pulp stuck in the juicer.
  3. Serve and store: Enjoy the green juice immediately for optimal nutrient retention. Alternatively, transfer the juice to a sealed jar and refrigerate for up to 24 to 48 hours. Note that the juice is not freezer friendly.

Notes

  • If you don’t have a juicer, consider alternative methods to make juice such as blending and straining as mentioned in related guides.
  • It is recommended to consume the juice immediately or within 1-2 days to maximize nutrient benefits.
  • Using organic produce enhances the purity and reduces pesticide exposure.
  • Peeling citrus fruits aids in smoother juicing and helps prevent clogging of the juicer.
