Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 lbs chicken tenders, thighs or breast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce

  • 1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
  • 8-10 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup parmesan, grated
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce, more if desired
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley, minced

Chicken Seasonings

  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken tenders, thighs, or breast dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the chicken pieces with olive oil to coat evenly.
  2. Season the Chicken: Sprinkle paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the chicken. Mix well to ensure each piece is thoroughly seasoned.
  3. Assemble the Skewers: Thread the seasoned chicken pieces onto skewers, leaving a little space between pieces to allow even cooking.
  4. Cook the Chicken Skewers: Heat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side or until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks. Alternatively, you can cook the chicken skewers in a hot skillet or under a broiler, turning to cook evenly.
  5. Make the Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce: While the chicken cooks, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Stir in the grated parmesan, hot sauce, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another minute until the sauce is well combined and smooth.
  6. Coat the Chicken Skewers: Once the chicken is cooked, remove the skewers from the grill or pan. Brush or spoon the garlic parmesan butter sauce generously over each skewer to coat them completely.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the minced fresh parsley over the sauced chicken skewers for a fresh herbal finish. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
  • Use chicken thighs for juicier skewers or chicken breast for leaner protein.
  • Adjust hot sauce and red pepper flakes based on your preferred spice level.
  • Serve with a side of grilled vegetables or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
  • These skewers can also be cooked in the oven broiler on high for 5-6 minutes per side if a grill is unavailable.
