Everything Bagel Dip is a creamy and flavorful dip made from whipped cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise, combined with a zesty mix of minced dried onion, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic powder, and salt. This dip captures the iconic flavors of an everything bagel and is perfect for serving with chips, crackers, veggies, or bagel chips, making it an easy and delicious appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

Everything Bagel Seasoning

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp minced dried onion
  • 1 Tbsp poppy seeds
  • 2 tsp toasted white sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp black sesame seeds (or more toasted white sesame seeds)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt, plus more to taste

Instructions

  1. Whip Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric hand mixer to whip the softened cream cheese until it becomes fluffy and light, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes. This step ensures a smooth and airy base for your dip.
  2. Add Sour Cream and Mayonnaise: Add the sour cream and mayonnaise into the whipped cream cheese and blend thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined, creating a creamy and uniform mixture.
  3. Prepare Seasoning Mix: In a small bowl, toss together the minced dried onion, poppy seeds, toasted white sesame seeds, black sesame seeds, and garlic powder. Set aside 1 teaspoon of this mixture for garnish, and then pour the remainder into the cream cheese mixture. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasoning throughout the dip.
  4. Season and Garnish: Season the dip mixture with kosher salt to taste. Optionally, add a little bit of pepper if you prefer. Finally, garnish the top of the dip with the reserved 1 teaspoon of bagel seasoning mixture to add a pop of texture and visual appeal.
  5. Serve and Store: Serve the Everything Bagel Dip with bagel chips, crackers, chips, or fresh veggies. If desired, you can thin the dip slightly with a little milk for a looser consistency. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 1 week to keep it fresh.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of seasoning based on your taste preference for a stronger or milder everything bagel flavor.
  • If you don't have black sesame seeds, you can use all toasted white sesame seeds as a substitute.
  • For a thinner dip consistency, add milk a tablespoon at a time until desired texture is reached.
  • Keep the dip refrigerated when not serving to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
  • This dip pairs wonderfully with bagel chips, crackers, pita chips, or fresh-cut vegetables.
