This easy restaurant-style blender salsa is a quick and flavorful dip made with fire-roasted tomatoes, fresh herbs, and spices. Perfect for serving with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, this salsa comes together in just minutes using a blender or food processor, delivering a fresh and vibrant taste that rivals your favorite Mexican restaurants.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 (15 oz.) cans fire-roasted diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 red onion, roughly chopped
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 jalapeno, ribs and seeds removed
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Pinch cayenne pepper
  • Large couple pinches Kosher salt
  • Large pinch fresh cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients: Gather all ingredients and roughly chop the red onion and jalapeno. Remove ribs and seeds from jalapeno to reduce heat if preferred.
  2. Add to blender: Place the canned fire-roasted diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, smashed garlic cloves, jalapeno, fresh cilantro leaves, lime juice, cumin, cayenne pepper, kosher salt, and cracked black pepper into a high-speed blender or food processor.
  3. Blend: Blend the mixture for about one minute or until the salsa is finely minced and well combined, but still retaining some texture for the best consistency.
  4. Serve: Pour the salsa into a serving bowl and enjoy immediately with your favorite tortilla chips or use as a fresh topping for tacos, grilled meats, or other dishes.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of jalapeno and cayenne pepper to control the heat level according to your preference.
  • For a smoother salsa, blend longer, but be careful not to over-blend to avoid a watery consistency.
  • Salsa can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; flavors will meld and deepen over time.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best bright and tangy flavor.
  • If you prefer a chunkier salsa, pulse the blender instead of continuous blending.
