This EASY Basic Green Smoothie is a quick, nutritious, and delicious beverage packed with fresh fruits, leafy greens, and healthy fats. Perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack, it combines banana, spinach or kale, avocado, and tropical fruits blended with oat milk for a creamy, nutrient-rich drink. Optional additions like chia seeds and maple syrup enhance the texture and flavor while keeping it wholesome.

Ingredients

Fruit and Vegetables

  • 1 banana (preferably frozen)
  • 1 cup spinach or kale
  • ½ frozen avocado
  • ½ cup frozen mango or pineapple

Liquids

  • 1 cup oat milk (or other plant milk of choice)

Optional Additions

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds or hemp seeds (optional)
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup (or 1 pitted date; optional, for sweetness)
  • Squeeze of lemon or lime (optional, brightens the flavor)

Instructions

  1. Add Ingredients: Place the banana, spinach or kale, frozen avocado, frozen mango or pineapple, and oat milk into a blender. Include any optional ingredients like chia seeds, maple syrup, or a squeeze of lemon or lime if desired.
  2. Blend Until Smooth: Blend all the ingredients on high speed until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. Adjust the liquid amount by adding more oat milk if a thinner consistency is preferred.
  3. Taste and Adjust: Sample the smoothie and adjust sweetness by adding more maple syrup or a date if needed, and add more citrus to brighten the flavor according to your preference.

Notes

  • Use frozen fruits and avocado to achieve a creamy and chilled smoothie without needing additional ice.
  • Spinach has a milder flavor while kale provides a stronger green taste; choose according to taste preference.
  • Maple syrup and dates are natural sweeteners to keep the smoothie healthy and vegan.
  • Adding chia or hemp seeds boosts omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and protein content.
  • Adjust liquid quantity to get your desired smoothie thickness.
