Delightfully sweet and creamy deviled strawberries featuring a luscious whipped cream cheese filling, enhanced with lemon zest and vanilla, and topped with graham cracker crumbs and colorful sprinkles. A fun and elegant no-bake treat perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Strawberries

  • 12 medium to large strawberries

Filling

  • 12 oz whipped cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Garnish

  • 1 tbsp graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 tbsp sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly. Using a sharp paring knife, slice each strawberry in half lengthwise, keeping the stems attached for presentation.
  2. Score the Strawberries: Lightly score a triangle shape in the center of each strawberry half with the paring knife to indicate where to remove fruit for the filling space.
  3. Hollow the Center: Using a small spoon or melon baller, gently scoop out a small portion from the scored triangle area of each strawberry half to create a cavity for the filling.
  4. Drain Strawberries: Place the hollowed strawberry halves cut side down on paper towels to drain any excess moisture for a couple of minutes to prevent sogginess.
  5. Arrange Strawberries: Lay the prepared strawberry halves on a deviled egg platter or serving dish with the hollow side facing up.
  6. Make Filling: In a medium or large bowl, combine whipped cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is very smooth and creamy. Transfer the filling to a piping bag fitted with a large tip or use a resealable plastic bag with a corner cut off.
  7. Pipe Filling: Carefully pipe the cream cheese filling into the hollowed centers of each strawberry half, filling generously but neatly.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs and colorful sprinkles over the filled strawberries. Serve immediately for best texture and freshness.

Notes

  • Use medium to large strawberries for easier hollowing and better presentation.
  • For a firmer filling, chill the cream cheese mixture for 15-20 minutes before piping.
  • To keep the strawberries fresh, prepare close to serving time and avoid letting them sit too long after filling.
  • Graham cracker crumbs add a subtle crunchy texture complementing the creamy filling.
  • You can customize the garnish with chopped nuts or shredded coconut instead of sprinkles.
