These Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps are a quick and satisfying meal perfect for lunch or dinner. Combining tender cooked chicken with a creamy, garlicky sauce and melted cheddar cheese, wrapped in a warm tortilla and pan-fried until crispy, they offer a delightful blend of flavors and textures in just 22 minutes.

Ingredients

Wraps and Filling

  • 2 large tortillas (regular or low-carb/high-protein)
  • 7 oz cooked chicken (about 200 grams, chopped, rotisserie recommended)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced or grated, adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons light mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon light Greek yogurt (or plain yogurt)
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce (like Frank’s)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 oz grated cheese (about 90 grams, cheddar blend suggested)
  • 1 green onion (chopped)

For Cooking

  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Mix chicken filling: In a bowl, combine the chopped cooked chicken with minced garlic, light mayonnaise, light Greek yogurt, hot sauce, and salt. Mix thoroughly to blend the flavors well.
  2. Lay out wrap and add fillings: Place a tortilla flat on a clean surface. On the lower third of the tortilla, sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of grated cheese. Top this with approximately ⅔ cup of the prepared chicken mixture. Add another tablespoon of cheese on top and sprinkle with chopped green onion for freshness.
  3. Fold wrap: Fold in the sides of the tortilla towards the center, then carefully roll it up tightly from the bottom to encase all the fillings securely.
  4. Prepare pan: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and lightly spray it with olive oil to prevent sticking and add a crisp texture.
  5. Cook wraps: Place the folded wraps seam-side down in the hot pan. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on one side until crispy and golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for another 3 to 4 minutes. Cover the pan with a lid during cooking to help heat the inside thoroughly and melt the cheese.
  6. Serve: Remove the wraps from the pan and slice each in half. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy your crispy, cheesy chicken wraps.

Notes

  • You can use rotisserie chicken for convenience and flavor, or any cooked chicken you have on hand.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic and hot sauce to match your spice preference.
  • Using light mayonnaise and Greek yogurt reduces fat but still keeps the filling creamy.
  • Covering the pan while cooking helps melt the cheese and heat the filling evenly.
  • Low-carb or high-protein tortillas are great alternatives for different dietary needs.
