This Buckeye Dip is a creamy, decadent dessert dip that combines the rich flavors of peanut butter and chocolate in a smooth, sweet cream cheese base. Perfect for parties or casual get-togethers, it pairs wonderfully with graham crackers, teddy grahams, or fresh apple slices for dipping. The easy no-cook recipe comes together in just 15 minutes and serves 8 people.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 1 8-oz package cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

Sweeteners and Thickener

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ cup all purpose flour (heat-treated in the microwave for 30 seconds)

Flavorings and Mix-ins

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the base. Beat the softened cream cheese, butter, and creamy peanut butter in a large bowl using an electric hand mixer until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Add sugars, flour, and vanilla. Gradually blend in the powdered sugar, brown sugar, heat-treated flour, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated and smooth.
  3. Fold in the chocolate chips. Using a wooden spoon, gently fold in the semi-sweet mini chocolate chips to evenly distribute them without breaking them up.
  4. Chill the dip. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and store it in the refrigerator until ready to serve, allowing it to firm up slightly for better dipping consistency.
  5. Serve with dippers. Offer the dip alongside a variety of dippers such as teddy grahams, graham crackers, or fresh apple slices for guests to enjoy.

Notes

  • Heat-treating the flour by microwaving ensures it is safe to eat without baking.
  • For easier dipping, remove the dip from the refrigerator about 10 minutes before serving to soften slightly.
  • Store any leftovers tightly covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Try substituting the peanut butter for natural peanut butter for a more intense flavor.
