Delightful apple crescent rolls featuring tender, flaky crescent dough filled with sweet apple pie filling, cinnamon, and sugars, baked to golden perfection and brushed with melted butter for a rich, comforting treat perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

For the Dough and Filling

  • 1 package crescent roll dough
  • 1 can apple pie filling

For the Topping

  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the crescent rolls evenly.
  2. Mix Sugar and Cinnamon: In a small bowl, combine the white sugar, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon thoroughly to create the sweet, spiced topping; set aside.
  3. Prepare Baking Dish: Pour half of the melted butter into the bottom of a baking dish to add flavor and prevent sticking. Reserve the remaining butter for brushing later.
  4. Assemble Rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough and place 2-3 apple slices from the pie filling on the base of each dough triangle.
  5. Roll Dough: Carefully roll up the dough around the apple slices, forming crescent shapes, and place each roll in the prepared buttered baking dish.
  6. Apply Butter and Topping: Brush the tops of each crescent roll with the remaining melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top to enhance sweetness and add a spiced crust.
  7. Bake: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the crescent rolls turn a beautiful golden brown and are cooked through.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving to enjoy their best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Use fresh apple slices if desired, but may require adjusting baking time slightly.
  • Brush butter evenly for a crisp, golden crust.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert.
  • You can add chopped nuts or raisins inside the rolls for extra texture and flavor.
