Ingredients
Halibut
2 6-ounce halibut filets (skinless)
Olive oil spray
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika (sweet or smoked)
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Pinch black pepper
Green Beans
½ pound green beans (trimmed)
2 teaspoons olive oil
Salt & pepper, to taste
To Serve
Lemon wedges
Instructions
Prepare the dry rub: In a small bowl, whisk together garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until combined evenly.
Season the halibut: Pat the halibut filets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Sprinkle the dry rub all over the fish, coating each filet on all sides thoroughly for maximum flavor.
Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and allow it to preheat for a few minutes to ensure even cooking.
Prepare the air fryer basket: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Place the seasoned halibut filets in a single layer ensuring they do not overlap.
Cook the halibut: Air fry the halibut for 6 to 7 minutes. The fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork or reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit on a meat thermometer.
Cook green beans (optional): If your air fryer basket has enough space, add trimmed green beans tossed in 2 teaspoons olive oil and seasoned with salt and pepper alongside the halibut. Toss the green beans once during cooking for even roasting.
Serve: Remove the halibut and green beans from the air fryer. Serve immediately with lemon wedges for a fresh burst of flavor.
Notes
Ensure halibut filets are evenly sized for consistent cooking.
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow proper air circulation.
Adjust seasoning to taste if preferred less salty or spicy.
Green beans cook well alongside halibut to save time, but can also be cooked separately.
Monitor cooking time carefully as fish can overcook quickly.
