Crispy and golden Air Fryer French Fries made with simple seasonings and a light drizzle of olive oil. This easy recipe uses an air fryer for a healthier alternative to traditional frying, delivering perfectly cooked fries with a satisfying crunch in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Potatoes

  • 1 lb russet potatoes (2 large or 3 medium potatoes)

Seasonings

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ⅛ tsp ground black pepper (or to taste)
  • ⅛ tsp garlic powder
  • ⅛ tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Scrub and clean the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. Cut the potatoes into even ¼-inch thick strips to ensure consistent cooking and crispiness.
  2. Rinse and Dry: Rinse the potato strips in cold water to remove excess starch. Then, thoroughly pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to prevent sogginess.
  3. Season the Fries: Place the dried potato strips into a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika over the fries and toss again until all pieces are well seasoned.
  4. Air Fry: Transfer the seasoned fries evenly into the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd. Cook at 380°F (193°C) for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, toss the fries to promote even cooking, then cook for an additional 6 to 10 minutes until the fries turn golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve: Remove the fries from the air fryer and optionally garnish with fresh parsley. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce for a delicious snack or side dish.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before rinsing and drying.
  • Make sure the fries are evenly coated with oil but not soaked to avoid sogginess.
  • Cooking times may vary depending on the air fryer model and the thickness of the fries—keep an eye on them during the last few minutes.
  • Use fresh potatoes for best texture and flavor.
  • You can customize the seasoning by adding cayenne pepper, onion powder, or your preferred herbs.
