Deliciously crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Chicken Tenderloins seasoned with a blend of smoked paprika, oregano, garlic, and onion powders, perfect for a quick and healthy meal.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken tenderloins

Seasoning & Coating

  • 1 tbsp olive or avocado oil
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

For Air Fryer Basket

  • Avocado oil spray (for lightly spraying the air fryer basket)

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (204°C) for a few minutes to ensure it reaches the right cooking temperature. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with avocado oil spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Prep Chicken: Pat the chicken tenderloins dry using paper towels. In a bowl, combine the chicken with olive or avocado oil, cornstarch, kosher salt, smoked paprika, oregano, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss thoroughly, preferably with your hands, until each tenderloin is evenly coated with the spice mixture and cornstarch.
  3. Air Fry: Place the seasoned chicken tenderloins in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Air fry them for about 10 minutes total, flipping them halfway through to ensure they cook evenly and become crispy on all sides.
  4. Rest and Serve: Once cooked, the chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Let the chicken tenderloins rest for a couple of minutes before serving to seal in the juices and improve flavor.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crispiness; cook in batches if doubling the recipe.
  • Chicken is safe to eat when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Patting the chicken dry before seasoning improves crispiness.
  • Using your hands to toss helps coat the tenderloins evenly.
  • Avocado oil spray helps prevent sticking and promotes even browning.
